In 2004, Karen “retired” from her corporate career and spent more than two years traveling around the world, visiting sacred sites and indigenous peoples.
“Somewhere along the way, I began to see the world through different eyes,” says Karen, “and I realized that I was on a unique and sacred pilgrimage.”

Highlights of some of Karen’s journeys include:
- Kenya – a 10-day silent walking safari across East and West Tsavo National Parks in Kenya, Africa.
- Egypt – sacred journeys to the temples along the Nile and the Great Pyramid, with private meditations in the King’s Chamber.
- Hawaii – swimming with the dolphins in the wild off the Big Island.
- Sedona, Arizona – hiking to various sacred sites for meditation and ceremonies.
- Peru – climbing to Machu Picchu – and to the even higher altitude of Waynapicchu.
- Brazil – hang gliding over the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema in Rio de Janeiro, and visiting “John of God.”
- Tibet/China – visiting the palace of the Dali Lama in Tibet, and walking the Great Wall in China.
- Australia/New Zealand – visiting with the indigenous aboriginal and Maori cultures.
- Ethiopia/Ghana – visiting a hospital and an orphanage with a contingent from the Agape International Spiritual Center led by Reverend Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith.
- Turkey – visiting the House of Mary near the ancient city of Ephesus.
- Italy – visiting the sacred sites in Rome, Florence, Siena and Assisi.
- Bimini, Bahamas – Swimming with dolphins in the wild
- Abadiania, Brazil – Leading several sacred journeys to the world-renowned healer, John of God
