To Each His Own

It is for us to realize that as we begin to take care of God’s business…giving and receiving love…our earthly business is handled.
Karen S. Wylie, Into Me See, A Book for Daily Inspiration

Your good is not in someone else’s driveway, or in someone else’s home or on someone else’s arm. Furthermore, there is enough to go around. There is not a scarcity. It is given to you as you believe. That is the promise. What do you honestly believe about your life and what is possible for you? That is the question of the day. You either believe that you can have a great life filled with the peace, love and joy you’ve imagined or you don’t.

We are great at kidding ourselves, creating lists of what we’d like to have in our lives while at the same time, living in fear that we’ll never have it. We have to stop kidding ourselves and begin to do the real work of delving into the source of those negative beliefs that have kept us in bondage for our whole lives.

The question is, “Who am I beneath all this fear that I’ll never realize my dreams?” Where have I bought into the notion that I am not deserving, that someone else is smarter, more attractive, and more capable than I am; and hence, that I will always fall short of the good I’m seeking?

Here is the truth. You are so loved by that which created you. Beneath all your fears that you are not worthy is a consciousness within you that knows your connection to Spirit, that knows you can live the life of your dreams. That part of you knows exactly what to do and how to do it for your self-realization.

This earthly experience is exciting because you get to feel and sense the material world, but there is nothing better than to experience it from a consciousness of knowing and truly realizing the Christ Presence within. Love, peace and joy are the instruments through which you taste the thrill of living in this material world. Life is thrilling and safe and beautiful; and it is for you, never against you!

Affirmation
Today I release my fear, knowing the Universal Presence supports me completely!

Reclamation

We become conscious of darkness only when we are without faith—for faith is ever the light of our day and the light on our way, making that way clearly visible to us, even when to all others it may be beset with obstacles and the ongoing rough.
Ernest Holmes

In the process of our individual spiritual growth and evolution, our shadow aspects come forward to be healed and dissolved into the light, which is the very nature of God. This happens on an individual basis and now I see it happening on a global level. How do we find peace in the midst of this crazy, unsavory world of appearances? We could say the world has gone nuts or we could say all this is happening for a reason.

In order for the evolution of love and light on this planet, everything unlike it must come to the surface to be dissolved. Our daily news is filled with stories of racism, sexism, intolerance, greed, abuse of power, and abuse of all kinds. Whether you like our President or not, he has been, and continues to be, an amazing catalyst for change—not only in our own country but also throughout the world. People are waking up, asking themselves, what matters to me? What are my values? What do I believe in? What am I willing to fight for? THE POT HAS BEEN STIRRED.

The fact is all this negativity and separation has been present for a long time, fomenting beneath the surface. We can see it now for what it is and that is the beginning of major healing on the planet.

It is for us to remain faith-filled, full of the belief in a new day, filled with the vision of peace, love and prosperity for all. It is for us to see the global transformation taking place right now on this planet. Yes, it’s messy but we are here to see beyond appearances. This is the nature of our spiritual journey on the planet…constant evolution, constant growth, becoming more like our True Self all the time. Ultimately, we see through the eyes of Love and witness it everywhere because Love is who we are.

Affirmation
Today I reach out with Love. I send Love to people everywhere.

Joyful Living

You are as young as your faith, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair.
Ernest Holmes, Help for Today

Ernest Holmes said, “Nobody grows old by merely living a number of years; people grow old only by deserting their ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up interest wrinkles the soul.” How you choose to see your life and the world around you is everything. Some young people look old and some old people look young. The story is told in your face and the way you carry yourself.

As bodies of energy, we reveal everything not just in the words we speak. Our enthusiasm for life is like a beacon of light which attracts like a moth to a flame. It is all within our power to create that light, but we cannot do it by dwelling on worry, doubt, fear, self-judgment and despair. These are the ways of being that bend the back and bow the head.

No matter how old you are, there is in every heart that childlike delight, that love of wonder, and the joy of experiencing something brand new and fresh. It’s been said a million times: the thoughts you think are what determine the world you are living in. If you don’t like the world you are living in, now is a great time to change. It is within your God-given power to change your life. Nothing is stopping you but YOU.

Life is so joyous, so beautiful, so profoundly magnificent in its complexity and opportunity. You did not come into your physical body for pain and suffering. You came for love and beauty and divine expression. Now is the time of your great becoming, to live the rapturous journey of your magnificent joy-filled life!

Affirmation
I declare myself a powerful, loving light overjoyed at my new becoming!

Who…Me??

Our inner worlds interact with outer conditions to shape the world around us. We respond to external circumstances but we also create them.
Karmapa Ogyen Trinley Dorje

Well, it is clear from listening to the news that we, as individuals, have great work to do on the planet at this time. We like to point fingers at the guilty ones. We are sure it is them, not us, as we move into greater and greater separation. We would like to say it’s not my problem. It’s them. If they could only see my “right” point of view.

We don’t like to admit that we’ve been a part of creating the very circumstances we now witness. We don’t like to acknowledge in the deepest part of ourselves our own racism, our own dishonesty, and our own manipulation.

Well, now it has all surfaced so we can’t pretend it’s not there. It has surfaced so that we can do the great internal healing work on ourselves at an even deeper level. All healing in the outer world comes from our willingness to do our internal work. Why else would all this hatred and animosity be surfacing now? There is a connection between our inner world and our outer world. We now look closely at ourselves. Where have I withheld my love in the name of a difference of opinion? Where have I judged someone based on the way they look, talk or dress? Why do I lie to myself or others to get what I want?

Our inner world and the outer world are intimately connected and interdependent. Through our inner work, we create a great shift in the outer world we all share. It is not about fighting against anything. It is about doing your own healing work within to such a degree that you bring healing light to this planet, you bring love to this planet, you bring the transformation to this planet that is sorely needed at this time. Can one person make a difference? It has been shown over eons that yes, one person can make a difference. Let it be you.

Affirmation
The transformation and healing of my outer world begins within me.

Inexhaustible Supply

This is a beautiful thought: that we are fed from the table of the Universe, Whose board is ever spread with blessedness and peace; Whose loving-kindness has never been fathomed; Whose grace and truth are the cornerstones of Reality.
Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind

If you only knew how much you are loved and cared for, you would fear nothing! It’s as though this whole universe is here to love and support you. And yet we suffer. We suffer because we don’t believe it; and in our lack of belief, we push away the very things we so desire in the deepest part of our being.

Faith is a tricky thing, isn’t it? Believing in what you cannot see…but faith in what you cannot see is everything. Socrates said, “Know thyself.” In the knowing of self, we come to realize our divine essence. We begin to see that we are more than just these flesh and bone bodies. We begin to see that we can tap into the divine nature of the universe. We realize we are never alone. We realize that we are loved unconditionally, and that we are creators of our own universe. No matter what is going on in the outer world—the craziness, the confusion, and the fear—we rise above all that into the light. We do that because there is a divine light within us, which transcends all things. It is a light that illumines the world. We rise above the din and confusion. We are in the flow and moving in life with ease and grace. Everything is going our way because we resist nothing; instead we are part of the All. We are one, and life is good.

We are fed at the inexhaustible table of the Divine, and ultimately our greatest expression is one of gratitude and thanksgiving. We are willing NOW to transcend this world of appearances into true Reality.

Affirmation
I release my fear and sense of separation. All is good because all is God!

Taking a Risk

Man is limited by nothing but his own thinking, by his mental ability to conceive.
Ernest Holmes, Creative Mind

When I was 21, my friend who was a poetry-reading dreamer said to me, “Let’s quit our jobs, sell our cars and travel all over Europe.” We really had no significant money and though we had the means to get there, we had no plan for getting home. Even though I was a very practical young lady having been raised by parents of limited means who had been through the Depression, miraculously I said, “Yes!” That decision made at 21 years of age changed my life forever. We traveled in ten countries for six months and somehow our needs were constantly met.

Because of that early experience and my willingness to step out of the limited parameters that defined me at the time, my life changed forever. My horizons expanded. I had a new belief in myself and what was possible for my life. I never again saw myself in the same way.

We are constantly faced with life-changing decisions. Sometimes we have to step out in faith believing if we really want to experience Heaven on Earth. Otherwise we are the ones limiting the possibility for our lives—no one else. Many of us live within the confined boundaries of our own making. We are afraid to take a risk…afraid to really live. Unfortunately, or fortunately depending upon your point of view, only you can know what is seeking to emerge in you.

The good news is when you are in alignment with your true nature as a spiritual being, you are guided, directed and supported by a Supreme Intelligence that loves you unconditionally. Of this, you can be sure.

Affirmation
I am available and respond to Divine Inspiration. The truth of my being is revealed now.

Rev. Karen Wylie

Out of Control…Good News!

The Light of Heaven shines through me and illumines my path.
The Light Eternal is my guide and my protection. In that Light there is no darkness at all.
It is a Perfect Light shining from the altar of a perfect Love.
Light shines through me and illumines the way.
Ernest Holmes, The Science of Mind

Some of us grow up in such scary, dysfunctional and unpredictable environments that as we mature we become very controlling in our lives. We feel that if we control everything, we will be safe. It’s a great coping mechanism that often does help us function successfully, at least for a limited time and in a limited way.

Somewhere along the road on your spiritual journey, however, you will discover that you must finally surrender your need to control and your need to know. In your yielding into the great Love Intelligence that governs this universe, you will discover that all your plans and schemes pale in comparison to what God has in store for you. You will discover that the Love inside you is more powerful and grace-filled than anything you can imagine.

The great plan for your life, your love and your joy so surpasses any idea you may have orchestrated in your limited notion of life. We think we have all the answers and we are pretty arrogant about that. In your great surrender, you will discover that you know nothing compared to the Love Intelligence that governs this universe.

It is difficult to trust the unknown, but if you can truly surrender your willfulness, you will know a love and joy that surpasses anything you have known in this human experience. You will begin to see miracles in your daily life. You will be in the Divine flow and will be guided to the perfect solutions to all your problems. Your capacity to love will grow in ways you can’t begin to imagine.

God is good. Love is your essential nature and you are here to know and love yourself completely. Knowing the Self in this way is truly knowing the nature of God.

Peace be with you.

Affirmation
I surrender my life into the life of God and I am set free!

Becoming a Scholar of Love

Pierce through all your illusions and you will discover you are only love.
Deepak Chopra

In the beginning there is only LOVE, before the ego and the thinking mind. As we manifest into this physical realm, we forget the all-embracing experience of love. Then the duality is born…the rising of the little “i” and the feeling of separateness. In our human walk, that feeling of separateness births the experience of fear.

Our purpose here on this spiritual journey is to remember our origins, the source, our authentic selves, what we always have been and what we always will be. And in that remembrance there is no duality. In that remembrance there is only the energy and the high vibration of unconditional love. In duality, love comes and goes; in unity, there is only love. We return to our essential nature, knowing there is nothing to fight against or to resist. We become swallowed up in the knowing of our oneness and union with all.

The experience of transformation is reverential because we finally come to the awareness that we are made of pure Spirit, that beauty is what we see everywhere because we are looking through the eyes of love. We want only to love and be loved. We let go of our fear of the unknown because everything is known in the mind of God. We are powerful in our knowing. Spirit is within us; we can rest in the awareness that we are the Beloved. Love flows to us easily because love is all we are. All our needs are met and the miracles show up everywhere.

I have become a scholar of love! I’m learning to love myself exactly as I am and because of that, I’m not afraid to love you. The care, love and support I receive is infinite.

Affirmation
I willingly let go of false beliefs and limited ideas about myself.
I embrace all the power and wisdom that lies within me!
My life is filled with divine light!

Revelation

Behold, I make all things new.
Rev. 21:5

The beauty of life is that in each and every moment, we can begin again. Today has no power over tomorrow unless you will it to be so. You can decide in an instant that you are willing to write a new script for your life. You can decide that the way you’ve been living, the choices you’ve been making no longer serve you. You can decide to start living the life you’ve desired. You are in charge of your own destiny.

Sometimes we think we are trapped, that our life experiences are out of our hands, that we are victims of circumstance. Most of us truly do have choice, but we find it easier to stay stuck rather than take a chance on the unknown.

Actually, life is all about daring to make different life-affirming choices. The potential for everything we need is already present within us, so it is not about acquiring something from without. It is about clearing the way, forgiving and letting go of the past, including all your supposed failures and mistakes, all the ways you feel you’ve been betrayed and abused, and your feelings of unworthiness, and then stepping out in perfect faith and trust. It’s really time to let go.

This is a brand new year filled with infinite possibility. If you knew how much you are loved by that which created you, you would fear nothing! Decide today that you are sick and tired of your half-lived life. Decide today that you are tired of making excuses and blaming someone else for why your life isn’t working. Decide today to make this year the best year ever. You will be so supported by the Universe that it will surprise and delight you. It’s time to claim the powerful, precious life you were born to live! Happy New Year! Happy New You!

Affirmation
I courageously celebrate my new beginning!

Rev. Karen Wylie

The Christmas Blessing

The closer we come to seeing the appeal in all people, the closer we come to God’s perspective.
Deepak Chopra

We are here on this amazing human journey to discover and recognize the love within. Our capacity for love and understanding is unlimited and on going. Our learning in this human experience is forever. Some of us have never really loved ourselves completely (I’m not talking about what the ego calls love), yet we think we have truly loved another. We toss the word “love” around very easily and it means different things to different people.

Your capacity to love is limitless and it begins with your willingness to embrace yourself with all your perceived faults and imperfections and your willingness to forgive yourself for all the ways in which you feel you’ve failed. This is the nature of God’s love for you. It is a true, adoring love—a love that never dies, that never judges, that does not play favorites. The awareness of the depth of God’s love for you is the greatest gift you could ever give yourself. It simply awaits your waking up to it.

We think we know something about love, yet most of us give our love from a pretty empty well. When you begin to love yourself in true appreciation of who you are, when you let go of self-judgment and self-criticism, you are able then to love another with generosity and openness. You become more understanding; your interactions become more peaceful and accepting. In spending time in the stillness, you come into that knowing. We discover what we love, what inspires us, what unique gifts we bring to the planet. We discover what is lovable about us. We are softened in the realization that we are indeed worthy of great love. We can then let go and allow the love of God within to shine through to others, and we see with the sacred eyes of the Infinite.

Affirmation
I love and appreciate who I am as the Beloved of God!
