The Christmas Blessing

The closer we come to seeing the appeal in all people, the closer we come to God’s perspective.
Deepak Chopra

We are here on this amazing human journey to discover and recognize the love within. Our capacity for love and understanding is unlimited and on going. Our learning in this human experience is forever. Some of us have never really loved ourselves completely (I’m not talking about what the ego calls love), yet we think we have truly loved another. We toss the word “love” around very easily and it means different things to different people.

Your capacity to love is limitless and it begins with your willingness to embrace yourself with all your perceived faults and imperfections and your willingness to forgive yourself for all the ways in which you feel you’ve failed. This is the nature of God’s love for you. It is a true, adoring love—a love that never dies, that never judges, that does not play favorites. The awareness of the depth of God’s love for you is the greatest gift you could ever give yourself. It simply awaits your waking up to it.

We think we know something about love, yet most of us give our love from a pretty empty well. When you begin to love yourself in true appreciation of who you are, when you let go of self-judgment and self-criticism, you are able then to love another with generosity and openness. You become more understanding; your interactions become more peaceful and accepting. In spending time in the stillness, you come into that knowing. We discover what we love, what inspires us, what unique gifts we bring to the planet. We discover what is lovable about us. We are softened in the realization that we are indeed worthy of great love. We can then let go and allow the love of God within to shine through to others, and we see with the sacred eyes of the Infinite.

Affirmation
